Privacy Policy

Code and Function ("we") makes Pixel Not Perfect and runs its website, pixelnotperfect.dev. This policy covers the Pixel Not Perfect browser extension, the @codeandfunction/pixelnotperfect MCP server (together, "Pixel Not Perfect") and this website.

Summary

Pixel Not Perfect runs on your computer. We do not collect, receive or store any data from it, and it contains no analytics, advertising or tracking.

What the extension handles

When you start a review on a site, the extension handles the following, for that site only:

  • Website content: screenshots of the elements you leave feedback on, before and after images of those elements taken in your browser, and details of those elements such as their position, selector and styles.
  • Your browser and display details: browser name and version, operating system, screen and window size, and pixel ratio.
  • The addresses of the pages you leave feedback on.
  • The comments and reference images you add.

Where it goes

The extension sends this information only to the Pixel Not Perfect companion program on your computer, through your browser's native messaging. The companion passes it to the Pixel Not Perfect MCP server that your coding agent runs, also on your computer. Pixel Not Perfect sends nothing to us or to any other service.

Your coding agent

Your coding agent reads the review so it can change your user interface. Depending on the agent you use, it may send that content to its AI provider. That is governed by the terms of your agent and its provider, not by this policy. Only review pages whose content you are comfortable sharing with your agent.

Storage and retention

  • The extension remembers which tab is in which review in the browser's session storage, which is cleared when the browser closes.
  • Reviews are kept in a temporary folder on your computer. A review is deleted once it is a week old, the next time the MCP server starts.
  • Visual comparison images stay in the same folder until you delete them or your computer clears its temporary files.

Permissions

  • Access to a site is requested only when you start a review on it, one site at a time, and is removed when the review ends.
  • Native messaging lets the extension talk to the companion program on your computer.

Use and sharing

The information the extension handles is used only to run reviews with your coding agent. We never receive it, and we do not sell, rent or transfer it or use it for advertising, profiling or to determine creditworthiness.

This website

We host pixelnotperfect.dev with Cloudflare, which processes standard request information, such as your IP address, to deliver and protect the site.

  • We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It records pages viewed, the referring site, browser, device type and country, without cookies and without identifying or tracking individual visitors.
  • To protect the site from automated abuse, Cloudflare may set a short-lived security cookie (__cf_bm). It is used only to tell people from bots, not to track you.
  • We set no cookies of our own and show no advertising.

Changes

Changes to this policy are posted on this page with a new effective date.
